The eastern sky was vague with the first hint of dawn when Sansa finally saw a ghostly shape in the darkness ahead; a trading galley […]. Had she escaped the Lannisters to tumble into worse?

The funny thing is, Zeus is not exactly a good role model. So I find it funny your teacher is totally cool with Zeus but not Dionysus. Selective education is not cool.
ohmfg, i know right. i mean, apollo has his fun by playing music and being perfect all the time, whilst dionysus drinks and persuades people to loosen up and is desired by many. zeus turns into a handsome mortal man and impregnate every single pretty woman he’s met which eventually led to their inevitable death because out of all three sisters, he’s married to hera, of whom is a creature of jealousy. knowing this, he does it anyway, which just, ohmfg.
He kinda inspired women to get drunk ad be crazy and eat living things whle they were still alive. He was awesome like that
well yes but he is also a symbol of – joy, pleasure; that even god can have fun without impregnating mortals and that we can relax, that life is not all made of perfection. even though, i must admit that yes, cannibalism and the like is kind of not good for sixteen-year-old, but saying it in passing and explaining why it’s a bad thing isn’t such a bad idea now is it? i just wish he’s a little bit more open-minded and creative, because it’s history, y’know ;o
He was a god of alcohol whose worshippers had lots of lesbian orgies. He’s often portrayed naked and/or passed out drunk.
while it’s true that my country consists of narrow-minded people that still speak of homosexuality like it’s a fucking plague or something (which, shit – but i guess that’s the price you’ve gotta pay for living in a religious country), some of my teachers have addressed the matter of lesbianism & the like for educational purposes, so i don’t think it’s a problem? besides, if it’s lesbianism we’re talking about, isn’t apollo usually associated with, and i quote, “males, clarity, celibacy and/or homosexuality”? as for nudity, pretty sure that most – nay, all – greek gods are presented either naked/half-naked in both stories and statues.
